Linear Transducer: A device that provides voltage output quantity, related to the parameters being measured, for example, force, for simple signal conditioning. High-speed inductive linear position sensor
With the high speed and precision of the sensor, machine builders can keep the position error in motor control applications to a minimum. As with all inductive linear position sensors, the high-speed variant has very short blind zones and can tolerate up to a 4 millimeter offset of the positioning element. As well as the high-speed variant with an SSI interface and 16-bit resolution, the angle sensor will also be offered in future with the higher output rate of 5 kHz. A new electronics sensors
A new electronics architecture increases the effective output rate of the sensor from 1 to 5 kHz. In conjunction with the short signal run time and the highly resolved output, the inductive linear position sensors can thus achieve the performance of potentiometers but without their disadvantages. Unlike potentiometers, the home position sensor offer permanent protection to IP67, provide non-contact measuring and are absolutely wear-free. The magnetic field immune sensors are therefore suitable for measuring axes with high-speed controls such as is used in injection molding machines.

Linear potentiometer position sensor application
The linear potentiometer position sensor can be used in any linear application up to 1200 inches. The system consists of a heavy-duty spring motor assembly attached to a precision machined cable drum. As the cable is pulled off of the precision drum, the drum rotates a shaft connected to it. The shaft is precisely geared such that the full number of revolutions of the drum is equal to the appropriate number of revolutions required by the chosen sensor. Potentiometric position sensor use resistive effect as the sensing principle
Rotary position sensor angle sensor use resistive effect as the sensing principle. The sensing element is simply a resistive (or conductive) track. A wiper is attached to the body or part of the body whose displacement is to be measured. The wiper is in contact with the track. As the wiper(with the body or its part) moves, the resistance between one end of the track and the wiper changes. Thus, the resistance becomes a function of the wiper position. The change in resistance per unit change in wiper position is linear.In a similar fashion, the sensor used for measurement of position is called positioning sensors.
